Beautiful Destination Wedding

The RIUPa lace is a beautiful, all inclusive resort. The location was perfect for us-- just outside of town. The beach is well kept, and although it is not considered swimmable, a swimming beach is a short five minute walk. The resort had great food and a wide variety. I am a vegetarian and my husband likes his steak. Both of us were satisfied at every meal regardless of whether it was at the buffet or one of the four restaurants. We had a king room that was located just off of the lobby, but still private. The location was great for us as we were close to everything. The resort is very large so if our room had been in one of the wings, we could have had a small hike to get to certain things. The room was nice and spacious. Our only comment on it was that our king-sized bed was actually two full mattresses pushed together with just a thin mattress pad/sheet covering the very noticeable crack. (A real king-sized bed or queen bed would have been preferred.) There are two large pools and two small pool bars available and numerous lounge chairs. We never had an issue getting a sunny spot near a pool regardless of the time of day we decided to lay out. The poolside service (along with all of the other service at the resort) was excellent and made for a relaxing trip.  Our only complaints here were that there were no poolside bathrooms. The closest restrooms were in the nearby lunch buffet area. Also, the pools were kept slightly too cool. Overall, our experience at the RIU Palace was the perfect honeymoon destination for us and we can not wait to go back!

Photography Tips
Although you will remember you honeymoon forever, you still want to take a myriad of photos to share with your loved ones when you get back. Below are some helpful tips to help you capture your love in photos.

Check your camera. Long before you say the "I dos" and head off into the sunset, take time to check your camera to be sure it is working. Be certain all setting are acting correctly to avoid problems later.

Bring extra batteries. We've all been there; you have the perfect photo opportunity only to find out your batteries are dead. Combat camera woes by packing extra sets of batteries.

Bring a baggie. If you are going to the beach, put your camera in a plastic bag while you are there. Nothing ruins a camera faster than water and sand.

Bring a power adapter. When traveling abroad, remember to grab an International power adapter kit. Besides being able to recharge your camera and accessories, it will come in handy for phones, razors, and much more!

Tell a story. Rather then just taking tons of snap shots on your honeymoon, take pictures that tell a story. By including a variety of image types and styles, you will have a blast regaling your honeymoon with friends when you arrive home.
